Brič estate is located in the wine-growing Slovenian Istria, on a hill just on the Slovenian-Croatian border, above the Nature Park Dragonja. According to legend, the hard-working and resilient local residents tended the vines with care, which in turn led to abundant and fruitful yeilds. The estate is named after the eponymous hill and village, which is located above the estate.
Based on architect Boris Podrecca's project and French winery tradition, we have built an ultra-modern facility for processing grapes into fine wines. Brič is considered one of the 100 most beautiful wine cellars in the world.
Brič boasts 37 hectares of vineyards located at an altitude between 270 and 350 m above sea level, influenced by Mediterranean and continental climate that gives our wine a special aroma. Due to the direct proximity of the vineyards and the harvesting method, the grapes are processed in the mill within only half an hour. Using this unique procedure, we preserve all the flavours in the wine, which would be lost during a longer transport.
We know that excellent wines are produced only from carefully selected grapes, using the most advanced technological skills, under close control of each production step process and in cooperation with nature. Our wines preserve all the richness and harmony of the unspoilt environment that Brič offers us.
We grow different varieties of grapes, aiming to emphasize in particular the fruitiness and freshness of the wine as well as the fullness of young wines. With the maturation in large wooden barrels and barriques, we want to achieve the maturity, complexity and fullness of the aroma offered by white and especially red wines.
In addition to the vines, we also have about 500 olive trees. We process olives organically, without the use of pesticides. On Brič we also have own oil mill where we produce cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.
